Certified Veterinary Technician (Full-Time)
We are looking for candidates who have their Veterinary Technician Certification. Must be self-motivated; demonstrate strong attention to detail; dependable and possess good communication skills. Experience is required and all candidates will be required to provide professional references.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes.
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement.
- Obtain laboratory sample collections, process and interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears and 4Dx tests).
- Perform diagnostic imaging.
- Perform anesthesia and monitoring.
- Prep patients and assist in a variety of surgeries.
- Perform dental prophies.
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical and injectable).
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients.
- Print and review surgery reports and discharge instructions.
- Communicate with and educate clients.
- Provide compassionate patient care.
- Care for hospitalized patients.
- Clean animal housing areas.
- General housekeeping responsibilities, including laundry.
Skills Needed:
- Must possess certified veterinary technician certificate (CVT).
- Veterinary experience (minimum 1 year working as a CVT).
- Ability to read and understand instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of hospital equipment (digital x-ray, dental x-ray, Idexx in-house lab machines and post-surgery rehab equipment).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and ability to properly document treatments as needed.
Physical Obligations:
- Able to lift and carry at least 50lbs without assistance.
- Able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Able to take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, and radiation.
Full-time (32-35 hours per week)
Starting pay $22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Associate Veterinarian
Colonial Manor Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time veterinarian to join our growing team in the southwest suburb of Homer Glen. Recent DVM graduates are encouraged to apply.
As a family-owned and operated, recently remodeled hospital, we have been part of the Homer Glen community since 1967. We are a full-service animal hospital and are solely focused on our core mission of practicing the highest level of veterinary medicine and performing surgeries for canines, felines small animals and exotics. We are an AAHA accredited practice and provide routine preventive care as well as major soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery (including TPLO), complete dental care, diagnostic ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and in-house laboratory.
An interest in orthopedic surgery is a plus. Interest in pursuing additional training is encouraged and supported.

Qualifications:
