Dr. David Ihrke
DVM
Dr. Dave, as we call him here, is our Medical Director and hospital owner. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25years. He took over the operation of Colonial Manor Animal Hospital in 2007 from our founder, his father, Dr. George Ihrke. Dr. Dave attended Carleton College and received a BA in 1991 and University of Missouri Columbia, where he obtained his DVM in 1995. His special interests include Orthopedics, Ultrasound, and Endoscopy. Dr. Ihrke prides himself on being continually up to date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and equipping our hospital with the best technology available to care for our patients.

Dr. Marcus Taylor
DVM
Dr. Marcus has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2014. A graduate of Kansas State University, he has a special interest in Feline Medicine. He is excited to work in a Cat-Friendly Practice and enjoys keeping up-to-date on the latest and greatest technology for our feline patients. Dr. Marcus is truly part of the Colonial Manor Animal Hospital family; he worked as a veterinary assistant prior to vet school and was happy to return as an Associate DVM in 2017. Outside of work, he enjoys reading Sci-Fi and Fantasy books as well as watching movies. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, their son, and his feline “kids.”

Dr. Alex Weber
Dr. Alex Weber is a 2015 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She attended Truman State University, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. Dr. Alex has a strong interest in surgery, especially soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. She is also an alum of the Colonial Manor family, working here as an assistant during her undergrad years. We are excited to welcome her back as our second Veterinary Associate. Dr. Alex enjoys spending time with her family and friends, skiing, and camping. She currently has two dogs and a cat.

Tina Medland
Tina joined our practice in April of 2021. She has 16+ years of experience in veterinary practice management and is currently pursuing her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification through the Veterinary Hospital Manager Association (VHMA). Tina is also a Chicagoland Veterinary Managers Group member and feels one of the best parts of this profession is working closely with pets and the people who love them.
Outside of work, Tina enjoys reading, paper crafting, and traveling with her husband and dogs. She also co-owns/breeds and trains her three generations of Golden Retrievers for both obedience and conformation. She currently has three dogs, Winnie, Banner, and Faith, and a cat, Albert. She is very proud to be working with a dedicated team of professionals that are like a second family… and glad to call Colonial Manor Animal Hospital her new home!

Adena H.
Adena joined our practice in 1999. She has a Bachelor’s in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois and attended the Chicago School of Canine Massage. Outside of work, Adena enjoys playing sports and traveling with her family. Other special interests include Canine Massage and Animal Behavior. Adena currently has three dogs and three cats.

Ashley H.
Ashley joined our practice in 2019 as a veterinary technician intern. She attended the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College and obtained an Associate’s in Applied Science Veterinary Technology. She obtained her CVT license in 2019 and became a permanent Vet Tech at Colonial Manor Animal Hospital. Away from work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, a new baby girl and her four dogs.

Taylor B.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Taylor joined our practice in 2015. She attended the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College and obtained an Associate in Applied Science Veterinary Technology. In April of 2021, she became a certified veterinary technician with the state of Illinois. Her interests outside of work include spending time with family and friends. Taylor currently has three dogs Trixie, Pookie, and Charlotte.

Samantha F.
Samantha joined our practice in 2021. She is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Science at Moraine Valley Community College and plans to attend Vet Tech school to further her education and skills. She has a strong interest in Veterinary orthopedic medicine and physical rehabilitation. Samantha has had a love for animals her whole life, and now her passion is to work with them! Outside of work, she enjoys running and spending time with friends. She currently has a dog and two cats.

Michelle P.
Michelle joined the Colonial Manor Animal Hospital team in August of 2021. She hopes to enroll at the Veterinary Technician Institute at Fox College in 2022 with the goal of obtaining her CVT. Michelle currently has a two-year-old bunny named Kuskus and would like to specialize in small animal care. She has said she is excited to be part of such a friendly and welcoming team!

Haley M.
Veterinary Technician
Haley joined our practice as a full-time Veterinary Technician in July of 2022. She completed the Veterinary Technician program at JJC and graduated in May 2022. She completed her externship at VSMR specialty practice from March through May 2022, and prior to that, she worked at a very busy emergency practice as a technician while completing her coursework. Haley is currently pursuing her Illinois State Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license. In her free time, Haley loves going hiking with her two dogs Blaze and Aspen, and also enjoys reading and weight lifting.

Heather M.
Veterinary Assistant
Heather is the newest member of our veterinary assistant team. She joined our practice in August of 2022 and has experience working in a veterinary setting over the past four years. She hopes to continue her education to obtain her CVT beginning in 2023. She grew up with all sorts of animals and currently has three dogs and a sugar glider. Outside of work, Heather coaches a recreational cheer team, enjoys going to the dog park with her fur babies and spends quality time with family and friends.

Jill W.
Jill joined our practice in 2012. Outside of work, she enjoys golf and traveling to Michigan, going to the beach, and taking long walks. Jill is a wealth of knowledge for the Client Service Team. She enjoys meeting new clients and pets and building relationships with them. Her family recently grew by four legs, when she adopted an adorable five-month-old Shihtzu mix puppy, named Josie!

Lynn M.
Lynn joined our practice in June 2021 but came to us with many years of veterinary client service experience. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her twins, going hiking, biking, and going/listening to cover bands. One of the things she enjoys most about working at Colonial Manor Animal Hospital is building relationships with clients and their pets. Lynn currently has two dogs, Blaze and Aspen.

Savannah S.
Savannah joined Colonial Manor Animal Hospital in January 2022 as a part-time Client Service Representative. She has since been promoted to full-time. She is currently enrolled at Joliet Junior College and volunteers at the South Suburban IL Humane Society. Savannah is family-oriented and shares her home with three dogs and a cat, in addition to her human family. She is an outdoor girl who likes hiking, fishing, and taking long drives.

Alexis L.
Alexis is the newest addition to the Colonial Manor Client Service team. She joined our practice in August of 2022 and enjoys outdoor activities. In the Winter she likes to ski and snowboard, and during the Summertime she enjoys going to various Lake Michigan beaches, boating and swimming. She loves all animals, however dogs are among her favorites, if you don’t count flamingos, which we don’t see many of here at Colonial Manor. Her favorite breed of dog is the Boston Terrier. She grew up with this breed and loves their energy and playfulness. Alexis says one of the best things about coming to Colonial Manor is it allows her to fulfill her passion for working with animals.

Kristen C.
Kristen has been with Colonial Manor Animal Hospital since 2020. She has a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Diagnostics from Arizona State University and a Biology undergraduate degree from Lewis University. Kristen also works as a sterilization engineer in the medical devices and pharmaceuticals industry. Additionally, she has always been passionate about veterinary medicine and caring for animals. She has owned a wide variety of pets including goats, pigs, and chickens. She currently has two Pomeranians, one Redbone Coonhound, one Great Pyrenees, and four horses. Her favorite animals are pigs and chickens.

Meadow K.
Seasonal Veterinary Assistant
Meadow joined our practice in 2020. She will be attending Southern Illinois University in the Fall of 2021, on a pre-vet track. Meadow wants to be a Wildlife Conservation Veterinarian and will be studying Zoology Wildlife Biology for her Bachelor’s in Science Degree. In her free time, Meadow plays Tuba in a marching band and has been studying Chinese for the past four years, and hopes to minor in Chinese in college.

Leah O.
Seasonal Veterinary Assistant
Leah joined our practice in 2021 as a part-time Summer intern. She is currently attending the University of Illinois in a pre-vet program and plans to attend Vet School after completing her Bachelor’s Degree. Leah has always enjoyed and loves being around animals. At home, she has a poodle named Max, and her father has a Belgian Shepherd, Beagle, Labrador Retriever, and a Sharpei-Pug mix, and two cats named Hunter and Dora. Leah is a member of the U of I Marching Illini.

Allie W.
Allie joined our team in December 2021 as a part-time CSR. She is currently completing her Associate of Science Degree at JJC and plans on attending University of Illinois to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science. Allie would like to work at a wildlife rehabilitation center in the future. She currently has five cats of her own, and outside of work, she likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys taking long walks.
